Maine has always been well known for big bucks. The deer herd state-wide has been steadily growing over the last several years and numbers are now estimated at over 300,000.

Maine's regular archery season runs during the month of October and the new, expanded season runs from the second week of September to September 30th (call, write or e-mail for details). The firearm season runs from November 1 through November 27. All Deer hunts will be conducted in the Deer County of Waldo County, Maine.

Weather in Maine can change rapidly, bring warm clothes, rain gear, flashlight, sleeping bag, choice of weapon and personal items. During open firearm season, hunters must wear at least two articles of fluoresent orange clothing (a hat and vest or jacket should suffice).
