We'll rise early in the morning and use four-wheel drive or snowmobile to travel the extensive network of wood roads around the lodge looking for fresh bobcat tracks to set the hounds on. Maine Bobcat hunting is a very strenuous activity. The hunter must be in reasonably good physical condition and accustomed to walking on snowshoes. Maine Bobcat hunts take place during December, January and until mid February (depending on weather and snow conditions). Maine winters can be brutal and at times, the hunt may require walking long distances in deep snow. Hunters should come prepared for cold weather conditions: long underwear, wool socks, hooded sweatshirt, coat, hat, mittens, and felt lined packs are suggested.
